Food pyramid

The food pyramid can help you achieve a balanced diet through the right showing you the different groups of foods and the amounts of foods required to be and remain healthy. No food is banned as all foods can be enjoyed as part of your diet but the higher they are found on the pyramid, the smaller the quantities you should eat. As you can see, foods that are similar in nutrition are grouped together so you have variety and flexibility in the foods you eat from each shelf. Variety is the key to having a balanced diet and enjoying your food.
